An iron bar contains molecular magnet s  pointing in all directions if the bar is placed inside a coil carrying an electric current,the molecular magnet line up with the coils magnetic field the bar has now become magnet.

An electric motors is made of coil of wire inside a magnet.the coil is free to turn.when an electric current flows through the coils,it magnetises the magnet field produced by the surrounding magnet,and this makes the coils spin.
